We want you! E-MOUNTAINBIKE is looking for Freelance Translators (GER > ENG) and English-speaking Copy Editors

We are looking to expand and reinforce our dedicated editorial team to offer even more outstanding international bike content in the future! If you are a copy editor and native English speaker or a translator (GER-ENG) and you love what we do, read on now!

Who we are

41 Publishing & Marketing is the publisher of ENDURO Mountainbike Magazine, E-MOUNTAINBIKE Magazine, GRAN FONDO Cycling Magazine and DOWNTOWN Magazine. We are also the organisers of the renowned yearly Design & Innovation Award. Our international team works at the highest quality standards and with a huge amount of passion, helping us to constantly develop and improve our products. But, if you’re looking at this ad, you will have already known all that.

Our mission

With a strong vision for our magazines and innovative strategies and publishing concepts, we want to set trends, actively shape the development of the cycling scene and influence society and, of course, the bike industry in the years to come. Join us and become part of our amazing team!

Copy Editor/Proofreader (freelance) – your profile

Is proofreading texts and correcting spelling, grammar and punctuation errors your passion? You know the cycling industry inside out and can critically assess the factual correctness of information? Have you mastered the art of captivating bike fans with your words? Ideally, you’ll also be used to spending hours in the saddle – though not the horse kind, mind you. With work involving everything from articles on new technology right through to lifestyle stories, your copy editing should be captivating and entertaining for the pages of our magazines and websites. We need the following from you:

  • English native speaker
  • eloquent, concise writing style
  • a “get-shit-done” mentality comes naturally to you
  • fast and effective communication
  • willingness to work flexible hours (weekends or late night for breaking news)
  • German language skills and cycling experience are a plus

Translator GER>ENG (freelance) – Your profile

You speak great German but even better English? Always mouthing off about tech talk on the trails and you’re well-versed in bottom brackets and bike-specific jargon? You have a love for words and express yourself with surgical precision? With work involving everything from articles on new technology right through to lifestyle stories, your translations should be captivating and entertaining for the pages of the magazine and our website. Naturally, copywriting and proofreading skills are a given.

The next step

If your interest has been piqued, don’t stay in the back seat, just shoot a short and snappy application to Susanne at sfeddersen@41publishing.com. And while you’re at it, you could also try to explain why press-fit bottom brackets aren’t as crappy as the bike industry made them out to be.
