SCOTT STRIKE eRIDE – a comfortable bike for your touring days
The SCOTT STRIKE eRIDE is the latest addition to the Swiss bike family. With 140 mm of travel, a comfort-oriented geometry and a dedicated spec the STRIKE eRIDE is aimed at all those touring riders who love spending many hours in the saddle. Here at the EUROBIKE Media Days we had a chance to take a closer look.
For all ambitious sporty riders SCOTT’s portfolio is currently offering two exciting eMTB’s: the GENIUS eRIDE and the SPARK eRIDE. With the brand-new STRIKE eRIDE the Swiss are now closing the gap between their two 140 mm-travel eMTBs and offering a real alternative for the more comfort-oriented crowd — all thanks to a rather upright geometry.
To improve riding comfort SCOTT stretched the chainstays and top tube slightly and lifted the bottom bracket to allow for extra ground clearance. A comfortable saddle, ergonomic grips and shorter cranks (165 mm) round off the overall package. Very practical: the frame gives you the option of fitting a side stand while a speed sensor is elegantly integrated directly on the brake rotor.
The new STRIKE eRIDE relies on a Bosch Performance CX drive and an integrated Bosch Powertube battery with 500 Wh capacity. Good stuff: to remove the battery simply open the side-lock and the battery will drop out downwards. The high-end version features a new Bosch display. More info will follow soon.
The new SCOTT STRIKE eRIDE will be available with 29″ and 27.5″ wheels and respectively in three versions. To follow tradition SCOTT is also releasing two women-specific Contessa models. The high-end STRIKE eRIDE 910/710 model comes with a FOX Performance Elite suspension combo, a 12-speed SRAM GX-Eagle groupset, Shimano Deore brakes and lots of Synrcos components.
Our take on the SCOTT STRIKE eRIDE
Even before you start riding it the concept of the new SCOTT STRIKE eRIDE really makes sense. If you’re planning on riding mainly on moderate trails and forest paths you’ll appreciate the extra comfort and the confidence-inspiring handling the bike is said to offer. We’re looking forward to a first test ride and will soon report about SCOTT’s new STRIKE eRIDE.
