COBI.Bike becomes integrating part of Bosch E-Bike-Systems
After Bosch took over COBI.bike at the end of last year the future of the system was still unclear. Now it has been officially integrated into the Bosch product range.
Over the last few years COBI.bike has caused a stir and many of us wondered what would happen to the startup after it got absorbed by Bosch. On the eve of EUROBIKE Bosch has finally announced the official acquisition of COBI.bike into the Bosch eBike System — and is paving the way to the future by doing so.
COBI.bike allows you to link your smartphone with your eBike and offers a number of smart features. The Hub is a sort of charging dock which lets you to connect your smartphone to the bike — an effective and practical way to replaces a traditional eBike display. A separate control lever allows you to operate the phone while riding without having to take your hands off the handlebars. The COBI.bike app comes with a range of comprehensive navigation features with route tracking and can also be used to connect with many services such as Spotify, Strava or komoot.
Thanks to its clever integration with the Bosch eBike System the COBI.bike can be used as an alternative to more traditional Bosch displays; here at EUROBIKE brands such as KTM and Riese & Müller are already presenting their first production bikes featuring the system. Manufacturers also have the option of personalizing COBI.bike and to add supplementary modules. Riese & Müller for example is working on a dealer search system and a digital manual within the COBI.bike app – the possibilities seem endless. We are curious to see how the system develops — but thanks to the Bosch integration the future looks incredibly bright.
