New E-Mountainbikes from Eurobike – Part 1

Bergamont E-Contrail Plus

Bergamont have revised the E-Contrail for the coming season, updating the design to include the Boost rear hub standard and a more apt spec. For 2017, the E-Contrail will be rolling on 29ers or plus-size tires, with two models specifically relying on wide 2.8″ rubbers. The E-Contrail Plus also features 120 mm front and rear travel as well as a powerful Bosch CX motor. While the tires might grab your attention, it’s worth casting an approving eye over the revised cable clamps that eliminate any rattling, plus the new design of the toptube. Bergamont have also exclusively seized the opportunity to use the Manitou Jack dropper seatposts on their new season bikes too.

Thanks to the Boost standard at the front and rear, there’s now room for 2.8

Coming in two spec builds, the E-Contrail Plus will retail between € 3,999 and € 4,599. The fundamental differences between the two builds can be reduced to the suspension: while the top model relies on FOX for damping, the lower priced model turns to Manitou suspension. The full spec lists and a run-through of the E-Roxter Plus hardtail can be found here.
