eMTB pioneer Haibike has fundamentally revised its portfolio for the new season and given their bestseller, the Haibike XDURO AllMtn 7.0, a comprehensive facelift. On the surface, you’ll immediately notice the integrated Bosch PowerTube battery, but the German manufacturer from Schweinfurt has made much deeper changes invisible to the naked eye.

Haibike XDURO AllMtn 7.0 Review
Haibike XDURO AllMtn 7.0 | 25.52 kg | € 4,499

The new Haibike XDURO AllMtn 7.0 looks much more aggressive than its predecessor. Along with the facelift, its geometry and spec has also shifted significantly towards more focus on downhill fun and aggressive riding. The integration of the Bosch PowerTube battery gives the bike a much slimmer silhouette. The XDURO still has its typical design features like the offset top tube, and it is still immediately recognisable as a Haibike. The componentry of the € 4,499 test bike was thoughtfully chosen and hardly left any room for criticism. Haibike invested cleverly, giving the bike high-quality RockShox suspension, grippy MAXXIS tyres, and a dropper post. The drivetrain and the brakes, on the other hand, are a little more entry-level. Unfortunately, the latter lacks power, which will rob you of a lot of upper arm strength when braking.

The Haibike inspires with its smoothness and stability

One of the biggest changes Haibike made is to the geometry of the XDURO AllMtn. The XDURO models now differ considerably from the SDURO range of models. The front triangle is longer to give the bike a more composed character, while the riding position is aggressive and slightly stretched. Uphill, the Bosch Performance CX motor provides a powerful boost. We recommend riding the bike in eMTB mode; here, the support level is automatically adapted to the riding situation and the assistance can be modulated very well. Thanks to your central position on the bike, the front wheel always remains on the ground, even up steep sections.

Loud
The pulley is supposed to make the rear end less prone to bobbing when pedalling, but it rattles very loudly in the lower gears
Functional
The SRAM NX drivetrain is entry-level, but it performed without problems. One advantage: replacement parts and spares are inexpensive.
Very nice
The integrated Bosch PowerTube battery gives the bike a slim silhouette
Overwhelmed
The TRP brakes lack power. To slow down the bike quickly, you’ll need strong fingers.

On descents, the Haibike XDURO AllMtn 7.0 imparts a high level of rider confidence. The bike rides very calmly, and in combination with the grippy tyres, it is very stable on both forest roads and very demanding trails. The suspension works sensitively and simply irons out any kind of unevenness. The TRP brakes on our test bike lacked bite, though, and are overwhelmed by the ebike’s weight. The bike literally sticks to the ground but provides very little feedback, which makes it feel sluggish. Agility is not the Haibike’s strength, and fast direction changes require a lot of physical effort due to the long geometry.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a comfortable bike with a dialled seating position for long rides, the Haibike XDURO AllMtn 7.0 is the bike for you. The handling of the bike is very well behaved and conveys a lot of confidence thanks to its composure. Agility, however, is not its forte.
