The Rapcon Pmax is the new flagship model of Austrian brand Simplon. When developing their new carbon eMTB, trail performance was paramount. Despite the large 625 Wh battery that powers the new Bosch Performance Line CX, its weight should, depending on the configuration, be around 22.5 kg. As usual for Simplon, the bike can be configured with selected components. The price of the Rapcon Pmax starts at €6,699 for the basic configuration. As well as the option to customise spec choices, the Simplon Rapcon Pmax is also incredibly versatile and leaves the customer with a choice of tire size, battery size and suspension travel.

The internal 625 Wh battery capacity can be extended to 1125 Wh with an external 500 Wh battery. So it should be suited to super long days in the saddle.
If you only occasionally use the additional battery, you can quickly insert and unclip a bottle holder
150 mm to 170 mm forks are compatible up front
Depending on the shock size, the rear end can provide between 150 and 165 mm travel
The geometry can be adjusted to suit personal preferences with the flip chip
The Simplon Rapcon Pmax rolls on 29 “tires …
… Or on mixed wheels with 29 “front and 27.5” rear. Grip is provided by the Schwalbe e-mountain bike specialist Eddy Current.
The frame is full of small details designed to reduce wear and keep the noise level at a minimum.
The stainless steel insert protects the delicate carbon from the brake rotor when installing and removing the rear wheel
Thanks to a specially developed headset, all cables run directly under the stem and into the frame. Result: One of the tidiest eMTB cockpits we’ve ever seen.

The speed sensor uses an exposed spoke magnet
The Bosch Performance CX engine is protected by a plastic bash guard. Thanks to generously sized vents, it should not overheat.
The battery is also cooled by air intakes. However, if the special stem is not used, these openings are used to route the cables.
