Once known as a custom bike brand, MAXX have set out to stamp their authority over the booming E-MTB market with no fewer than four new models. Alongside two hardtails (the MAXX Racemaxx EL and MAXX Speedmax EL), we also clocked the FAB4 EL enduro-fully with 160 mm of front and rear suspension and a Brose motor with a downtube-integrated battery. When it came to the FAB4 EL, MAXX focused on mirroring the geometry of their conventional FAB4 to achieve a similar ride. The brand took the same approach for the Jinxx EL, which sports 140 mm of travel and a Shimano E8000 motor. Both bikes can be ridden as 29ers or with B+ wheels.

But MAXX’s capacity as custom bike builders won’t be kept under lock and key: their online configurator means that every single bike (including E-MTBs) can be individually tuned to suit the rider. Plus, size is no issue: MAXX E-MTBs go up to 4XL.
