New E-Mountainbikes from Eurobike – Part 2

Cannondale Moterra

When it came to the new Moterra, Cannondale set themselves three fundamental aims: use the market’s current best motor, guarantee a bottle cage mount inside the frame and create a bike with unrivalled handling. In their eyes, it was crucial to design the Moterra’s centre of gravity as low as possible. Consequently, the brand essentially ended up developing their own motor mount, and housing the battery on the downtube, protected by a wide rubber strap. The bike comes in two versions: one with 27.5″ and 160 mm of travel, and the second with plus-size tires and 130 mm of travel. Check out our website for all of the details and a first ride review.

To achieve the ultimate pivot point and therefore rear end effectiveness, Cannondale realized they’d have to build their own motor mount.
