SRAM Eagle for eMTBs
A golden eagle has a wingspan of up to 3 meters. This makes it the largest eagle in the world. The wings of the SRAM Eagle groupset might not stretch as far but with its gear range of 455 % it will make even the hardest climbs feel like a walk in the park. Until recently Eagle groupsets were only designed for classic mountain bikes. But since the launch of the new NX cassette and new shifters the components can now be used with eMTBs too. The new shifters only allow you to change one gear at the time which reduces the risk of chain breaks significantly. According to SRAM all Eagle chains are compatible with the system. Schwalbe Eddy Current
Schwalbe surprised us in many ways. We were convinced that the people at Schwalbe were going to call their new tire the “Glue Claus”. On top of that we weren’t expecting an eMTB-specific tire. The knobs on the new Eddy Current are 20 % bigger than classic mountain bike lugs and the tread pattern is optimised for front and rear wheels. Aesthetically the new Schwalbe looks a bit like a MX tire and is designed to transfer the power of the motor to the trail on climbs and inspire confidence on downhills offering tons of grip and good lateral support.
