9. Be nice

No matter where you’re riding friendliness and respect are the one golden rule you have to observe. Say hello to people, be polite, be open and kind and engage in conversations — this is the best way to break the ice and will help you get accepted by strangers straight away. You might even be lucky and get a beer or a snack out of it and learn something new about the region you’re visiting and the route ahead of you. Every eMTBer is an eMTB ambassador!

The silliest situations or mishaps can sometimes result in exciting encounters and priceless moments

10. The most important thing: stay relaxed!

If something goes wrong don’t get angry or frustrated— take it with a smile. Always prepare yourself for mishaps and expect things to not go the way you imagined. This attitude will get you in the right headspace and help you prepare psychologically in case something actually goes wrong. The silliest situations or mishaps can sometimes result in exciting encounters and priceless moments. If you ride in a group remember that your bad mood, bad attitude or excessive ambition will eventually spoil everyone else’s mood – be considerate and help each other out.
