YT DECOY: weights, prices, spec, availability
The YT DECOY is available in three build specs, with a prices ranging from € 4,599 to € 6,599. All bikes come with a Shimano STEPS E8000 motor, an E7000 display, an E7000 remote and the same custom 540 Wh battery. All the YT DECOY models will be available from May 2019.
For the suspension, YT relies on high-quality FOX Factory components with separately adjustable low and high-speed compression and rebound. The cockpit is taken care of by Renthal with a nice 800 mm wide and 30 mm rise handlebar and a 40 mm stem, which should please those amongst us with a need for descending speed. For the more relaxed riders, we recommend shortening the handlebar a bit.
For the front tire, YT specs a MAXXIS Minion DHF 29″ x 2.50″ WT with the EXO casing and 3C MaxxTerra rubber compound. The rear tire is a MINION DHR II + in 27.5″ x 2.80 with the EXO+ casing and 3C MaxxTerra compound. Unfortunately, MAXXIS currently doesn’t offer the 27.5″ x 2.80″ tire size with their more robust and puncture resistant DoubleDown casing. The tires are fitted to E*thirteen e*spec Race carbon wheels. The Shimano XT Di2 drivetrain is matched to an E*thirteen TRS Plus e*spec steel cassette, which was specially developed for ebikes and has 11 sprockets with a range of 9 to 46 teeth.
A special feature of the top-end model is the shifter: instead of using the classic Shimano XT Di2 lever, YT installed the same E7000 handlebar remote as for the motor. This requires some getting used to, and it’s not 100% ergonomic. Tip: turn the remote until the buttons face a little more down! Powerful SRAM CODE RSC brakes with 200 mm rotors and a 150 mm FOX Transfer Factory dropper post (in size L) complete the build. The permitted total weight is 150 kg.

YT DECOY CF Pro
The YT DECOY CF Pro costs € 5,599 and comes with cheaper FOX Performance Elite suspension without the Kashima coating, but with the same high-quality internals, E*thirteen e*spec Plus wheels with aluminium rims instead of carbon rims, as opposed to the top model, and a mechanical instead of an electronic Shimano XT drivetrain. You get SRAM CODE RS brakes with 200 mm rotors and an SDG TELLIS dropper post with 125 mm to 170 mm drop, depending on the frame size. According to YT, the DECOY CF Pro weighs 300 g more than the CF Pro Race.

YT DECOY CF Base
The YT DECOY CF Base costs € 4,599 and in contrast to the two more expensive models, it has an aluminium rear linkage, while the front triangle is still made of carbon. Instead of FOX suspension, YT relies on a RockShox Yari RC fork on the entry-level model, along with DT Swiss H1900 spline wheels and a Shimano SLX drivetrain. The smallest sprocket on the CS-M7000 Shimano SLX cassette has 11 teeth instead of 9, which means that the gear range on the YT DECOY CF Base is smaller than on the two top models. Completing the package are SRAM CODE R brakes with 200 mm rotors and an SDG TELLIS dropper post with 125 mm to 170 mm drop, depending on the frame size. According to YT, the DECOY CF Base weighs 200 g more than the CF Pro and 500 g more than the top-end model.
