Price and spec of the Lapierre eZesty AM

The top-end Lapierre eZesty AM LTD Ultimate we tested is priced at around € 7,600, featuring a carbon frame and ebike specific components. You’ve got a 160 mm FOX 36 FLOAT Factory fork at the front, and a FOX FLOAT DPS Factory LV EVOL trunnion mount shock providing 150 mm of travel at the rear. Braking is taken care of by affordable but good SRAM Guide RE brakes and the drivetrain is a 12-speed SRAM Eagle consisting of a mix of X01, GX and NX components. The in-house Lapierre eAM+ carbon wheels have an inner rim width of 33 mm and are designed for ebike use – they feature heavier duty carbon rims, bearings and freewheel to withstand ebike loads. For the tires, the French brand relies on MAXXIS HighRoller II WTs in 2.5″ width. For size L and XL, the dropper seat post offers 150 mm of travel (125 mm for size M) and is partially made of carbon fibre.

The mudguard protects the shock from being bombarded with dirt. It works. Unfortunately, however, the rocker link squeaks as soon as dirt collects between the frame and the link.
Très sexy: Designed & engineered in France – the eZesty oozes sex appeal!

Spec, sizes and weight of the Lapierre eZesty AM 2019

The Lapierre eZesty AM is available in two build specs and three sizes – M, L and XL. Due to design limits, the French brand decided not to build a compromised size S frame. The top-end model we tested in size L weighs 18.4 kg. According to Lapierre, special attention was given to the bike’s handling and uncompromising spec, featuring heavy-duty components for trail use – it would be easy to build a lighter eZesty, but that would be at the expense of longevity.

The SRAM Guide RE brakes are nothing special, but very reliable. Lapierre could have made a bigger effort with the brake mount though!
