Greyp bikes – the brand

Greyp isn’t completely new to the market. Greyp was spawned out of Rimac Automobili and a lot of the employees of Rimac have moved over to Greyp Bikes, the headquarters of which are right next door. The Croatian brand has been building the G12 since 2013, featuring a 12 KW hub-motor with a claimed top speed of 70 km/h – which obviously doesn’t fit into the pedelec category. The typical customers of this 50 kg bike are seldom riders, instead, most of them are owners of supercars who happily spend € 9000 on a bike to match their Bugatti or Koenigsegg.

The name Greyp can be traced back to Greyborg, a DIY build-at-home brand of ebikes founded by Zvonmir Sučić in 2001. Zvonimir was Rimac
Automobili’s first employee and today he functions as CTO of Greyp Bikes.

But let’s get back to Greyp Bikes, who are completely independent of Greyborg. With the Greyp G6, the Croatian company are targeting a completely new group of consumers, taking Greyp into a completely new direction: from “power & speed” to “smartness & connectivity”, as CEO Mate explained to us at the official presentation in the Croatian capital.

The new website and the new webshop already visualise the direction they’re heading: going from the super-bike niche to the wider, regulated market of street-legal ebikes.
