Plus-size tires and E-MTBs are the ultimate bed partners, of which even SCOTT is a fan. All set for the new season, SCOTT have just presented their new hardtail with an extra dose of grip and comfort: the E-Scale Plus.
It’s nothing new to hear that SCOTT are in favour of plus-size tires, seeing as their E-Genius 710 Plus already rode away with victory in our group test of 2016 E-MTBs. Now the Swiss team have employed plus-size tires on a hardtail, developing the all-new E-Scale Plus. Initially available in three build specs, all three E-Scale Plus models will feature a Bosch Performance CX motor with a 500 Wh battery and the new Purion computer. Shown above is the top-of-the-range E-Scale 700 Plus Ultimate.

The SCOTT E-Scale Plus will be available from the end of the year in three different build specs. SCOTT are due to announce pricings at this August’s EUROBIKE.
Our first impression of the SCOTT E-Scale Plus
Unfortunately due to time constraints at the press camp in Lenzerheide we were a bit stuck for time when it came to testing the SCOTT E-Scale Plus. We did give it a good once-over on the stand though and came away nodding our heads at its well-considered spec. Plus-size tires have shown that they’re a valid choice for E-MTBs, delivering extra comfort, traction, stability and fun – especially for hardtails. Now we’re stoked to put it through its paces on an extensive test so that we can draw some real conclusions.
