An audience’s favourite: The Felt Lebowske E-Fatbike
Not everyone is an admirer of Fatbikes, but no one would negate the fact that their ability to cover difficult terrain is impressive. Whether snow, mud, sand or gravel, the fat tyres smooth everything, offering amazing grip. The high rolling resistance however, is not so surprising, which is inevitable with 4″ wide tyres and 0,8 bar pressure. Felt has introduced the Felt Lebowske at Eurobike, which is a fatbike with electronic drive.
The Lebowske receives drive from a 250 watts Bosch performance motor, the battery is fixed to the bottom tube and offers good range with the help of 400 W/h.
The E-Fatbike is manufactured with a SRAM XO1 11-speed drive train and comes with stout SRAM Guide brakes.
The hydraulic Reverb Stealth seat post guarantees fluid rides. The 720mm wide carbon handlebar is a nice touch, but the weight reduction won’t play a big role with a normal weight of 21,7kg.
Caution: The standard bike is only available with a rigid fork and not a suspension fork. But this is no problem, because the tyres work as dampers. We were completely excited by the combination of 2,4″ set of rubber and the Bosch motor, during our test ride on the Eurobike test track.
The Felt Lebowske E-Fatbike is available from November onwards. There is no exact price defined as yet, but it will range between €4000 – €5000.
Keep your eyes open for an upcoming E-Mountainbike fatbike test.
