Currently details on the new BMC E-MTB prototype are scarce, it doesn’t even have a name yet (BMC aim to hold a naming competition very soon). However we can confirm that the bike has 150 mm of travel, and is based very closely to the geometry of their BMC Trailfox, so expect an aggressive 67 degree head angle and a fun and playful ride. The bike will use the new Shimano M8000 engine – you can read our first impressions of the M8000 here – and features 27.5” wheels. A 3D printed example of the proposed final bike indicate that BMC are striving for a very integrated and clean design.

This bike marks an exciting introduction for BMC into the e-powered sector, and if the 3D printed prototype retains its clean lines into production we can see it being a popular bike on the trails. As yet there is no hard information on release dates, but we will bring you further news about this exciting bike as it evolves.
