NICOLAI G1 E14 EBOXX Explorer – the most extreme commuter on Earth
The NICOLAI G1 E14 EBOXX is one of the most extreme eMTBs as it is! And with the new Explorer Kit, which NICOLAI just presented at EUROBIKE, the E-BOXX is also the most extreme commuter and touring bike in the World!
Not long ago NICOLAI introduced the brand new G1 E14 EBOXX. With its radical geometry and savage look, the German powerhouse is true eye candy. The small German bike manufacturer now offers the bike with a tailor-made Explorer Kit. The kit includes mudguards, a lighting system, a lock, a kickstand as well as a pannier rack and a set of waterproof Ortlieb panniers.
If you already own a G1 E14 EBOXX or if you just ordered one, you can buy the kit separately and install it on your bike. The kit will set you back € 950. Whilst Nicolai manufactured two special mounts to attach the pannier rack to the frame, the front mudguard, which is based on an SKS mudguard, was adapted and mounted to the suspension fork with the help of a 3D printed adapter – cable ties, anyone? No thanks!
The G1 E14 EBOXX is powered by the new Bosch Performance CX 2020 motor which draws its power from a 625 Wh battery. Whilst the KIOX display is currently still attached to the handlebars, on the production bike this will sit on the top tube, where it will be less exposed to impacts. The 14-gear Rohloff hub and Gates CARBON DRIVE belt ensure minimal maintenance and top reliability.
Our first impression about the NICOLAI G1 E14 EBOXX Explorer
With the new Explorer kit, the NICOLAI G1 E14 EBOXX looks , and is, even more radical! But if you like to take a detour on your way to work, if you value top riding safety and at the same time want to own a unique and reliable bike, the NICOLAI G1 E14 EBOXX with Explorer kit might just be what you’re looking for.
