The pace of the market not only requires brands and customers to display adaptability to the changes, but also us as a magazine. In such a case it’s about keeping step with the times and not falling behind. And you know us, we’re all about pushing the pace!

Don’t miss part 1 and part 2 of our Happy Birthday Series

While we could blindly broadcast our opinions and thoughts tothe world, we’ve always prided ourselves on lively, mutually beneficial discussions with our stakeholders. Our annual Readers’ Survey (which had more than 10,000 responses this year!) is the finest example of that, and it goes hand in hand with the industry perspective that we gain from the Think Tanks and countless industry meetings. It’s only once you’ve learned the art of listening that you’re able to understand the market, set the tone for new trends, and dial in the right dosage of change.

We continue to stay true to our original convictions, by recognizing potential, setting trends, and actively shaping the changes. At times this can put us in unpleasant situations whereby we might even lose advertising revenue by valuing honesty over a quick buck. Our ultimate goal isn’t to become a gigantic media powerhouse – it’s about producing great work as part of a great team, whether we’re on or off the bike.

The work that goes into the magazine is for you and for us. We get to realize our vision, find new inspiration, pass said inspiration on to you, and be confident that we’re 100% invested in our work.

Highlights and Challenges for 2019

What lies in store for us in the coming season? The quick answer: more inspiration, more tests, more know-how. The more extended answer: right now we’re expanding our editorial team and next season’s preparations are in full swing. The editorial direction is being set by the more than 10,000 responses to our E-MOUNTAINBIKE Readers’ Survey, seeing us branch further into untouched topics. At the same time we’re also launching a new smartphone app, which will take your reading experience through the roof – that particular launch is set for springtime 2019.

Throughout 2019 there will be another 4 issues published on the app in both German and English. With the first E-MOUNTAINBIKE print edition such a success, we’re really excited to hold the next issue in our hands come April 2019, with the English version coming out a couple of months later. The topics are already fixed: families, holidays, and SUV eMTBS.

As is customary to kick off the year, the first digital issue (out February 2019) will contain the group test of the best eMTBs for 2019, in which all of the new season’s most exciting bikes will be represented.

To wrap up, suffice to say you’ll see that we’re just getting started. Now it’s up to you to stay receptive to the surprises that are in store, and let the anticipation build for the great stories ahead. We’re looking forward to a brilliant future and a whole lot of unforgettable moments with you!
