The challenges

We created the world‘s funniest e-MTB contest to find out what is possible with our FOCUS bikes. Here are the rules for challenge number 1 of 7.

Number one – 110 m hurdles

Each rider has his own lane with six hurdles. For the start, all riders sit on their bike, one foot on the ground. Gear and assist mode can be chosen individually. All start at the same time on the signal. If a competitor hits or misses an obstacle, he loses one place in the final ranking. The rider that crosses the finish line first wins, depending on penalties for missing or hitting an obstacle.

Number two – Last man standing

All riders have to stay within a defined square. The first rider that touches the ground with any part of his body is out. Determined assist mode is „Boost“. Body and bike contact is recommended. We start with a square of six by six meters. Once a rider drops out, the square gets smaller by one meter on each side and the game starts again with the remaining riders. Last man standing wins.

Number three – Climbing challenge

The competitors have to climb up a very steep hill. All riders start at the same line, one after another. Gear and assist mode can be chosen individually by the participant. Every rider has three attempts. The body or bike part that touches the ground the highest counts. The rider that gets up the furthest wins.

Number four – Highjump

The riders have to jump with their bikes over a horizontal bar placed at measured heights without dislodging it. Every rider can choose his starting position. All competitors have two attempts per height. The rider that jumps the highest with the least attempts wins.

Number five – Le mans race

Bikes of participants lay on the ground with battery switched on. Gear and assist mode can be chosen individually by the rider. Riders stay in line 20 meters away. The competitor that is last on the scoreboard starts in the first place, followed by second last and so on. At a start signal, riders run uphill to their bikes and start riding. Body and bike contact is highly recommended. Three laps to go. The first one that crosses the finish line wins.

Number six – Blind race

It is a timed race on a course no participant has seen or ridden before. One after another starts at a given signal. Only one run per person. The competitor with the fastest time wins.

Number seven – e-trials

We have a defined course going over tree logs and through a river bed. Foot down means one penalty point, using a hand is five penalty point. Time penalty per point is five seconds. The fastest guy wins.
