E-Mountainbike Review: Kreidler Vitality Dice 29er Shimano XT
Kreidler is a German company with long tradition. With their Vitality Dice 29er Shimano XT 10-gear, the Oldenburg-based forge created a genuine E mountain bike with high-quality equipment and the newest technologies. E Mountain Bike Magazine tested the bike off-roads.
With a large number of branded products like Magura brakes and suspension fork, Shimano gears, and Schwalbe tires the Vitality Dice 29er model priced at 2,699€ leaves nothing to be desired regarding its equipment.
The Bosch drive system is mounted to the frame upside-down and is therefore nicely protected and also provides more ground clearance. The frame construction around the drive system seems rather chunky.
Front perspective: The front is equipped with a ‘TS8R’ suspension fork by Magura, offering 100mm of travel.
The hydraulic Magura MT4 disk brakes provide powerful deceleration (size of disk brakes 180mm in the front / 160mm in the rear). For longer downhills, we recommend the mounting of 180mm rotors at the rear. The large brake levers provide enough room for one or two fingers. Though we recommend to only place one finger on the brakes when riding off-roads. Above that: the control unit of the Bosch drive system.

Rather limited scope of tires: Anyone not spending much time off-roads or simply being OK with the smooth and narrow Schwalbe racing tires will not face any problems. For those who prefer their tires a little wider or like to go through mud, clearance will be quite tight inside the rear suspension.
The interior chain guides ensure a clean look and facilitate the washing of the Kreidler E-MTB.
The large 29-inch wheels provide very smooth running and riding stability. The acceleration values of this 22kg-bike are totally fine thanks to the 250 watts electric assist.
To sum up: For the price of 2,699€, the Kreidler Vitality Dice 29er offers a very well balanced mixture of comfort, off-road capability, and leaves us with no desires regarding its equipment.
