Bosch roll out PowerStation charging stations in UK trail centres
Last summer, Bosch introduced PowerStation battery charging stations in key riding locations throughout Europe to help eMTBers maximise their time on the trails. 2019 sees the PowerStation network arrive in the UK, the first of which has been placed at the popular Peel Cafe at the Glentress mountain bike trails in the Scottish Borders.
Influential brands were introduced to the potential of Glentress as an eMTB riding and holiday destination after E-Mountainbike Magazine hosted our successful UK eMTB Think Tank there in the autumn, so it’s great to see Bosch supporting the Glentress trail network, and the sport in general, as it grows in the UK.
The PowerStation charging station uses Bosch’s latest Fast Charger, achieving a full charge in 3hrs and 50% in 1hr on a 500Wh battery. With 6 secure docks, able to charge any Bosch battery (the station is not compatible with batteries from other brands), riders can recharge themselves over lunch without worrying about their battery before heading out for a second lap.
Using Glentress for the initial UK trial, Bosch has allocated a further 4 PowerStations to the UK and are currently working through the growing number of UK eMTB hotspots in order to allocate the units to the most popular locations.
