New race series: ‘German eMTB Masters – epowered by Bosch’
Sporting eBike racing is continuing in 2015 under authen-tic race conditions. The ‘German eMTB Masters – epowered by Bosch’, a race series for all comers specially developed for e-mountain bikers, is being launched this year. Entrants will compete in four races, to be held between April and October. Each race will be accompanied by a separate eExpo at which visitors can put different eBikes and e-mountain bikes through their paces extensively off- road.
Race series for ambitious competitors on eBikes
eBiking and competitive sports are a perfect match. Following on from previous events, Bosch eBike Systems and its partners in the ARGE German Bike Masters, a group that represents the best mountain bike marathons in Germany, are launching a new race series specially developed for eBikers. These races for all comers are to be held between April and October 2015 at four different events in Muensingen (12 April, 4 October), Bad Wildbad (17 May) and Neustadt an der Weinstrasse
(9 August). Ambitious eBikers can enter now for individual and team events, and from April they can work hard at scoring points toward the overall rating. They may only ride eMTBs with electrical assistance up to 25 km/h.
eExpo – Experience electromobility at first hand
In addition to the races all four ‘German eMTB Masters – epowered by Bosch’ events will be accompanied by an eExpo. At these shows eBike manufacturers and bike dealers will provide detailed information about eBikes and eBiking.
Test rides will also be available for guided eBike tours, including expert advice.
What is special about them is that on the test rides bikers will take eMTBs made by different manufacturers around a genuine off-road course, complete with that authentic MTB feeling and non-stop two-wheel fun. The first race in Muensingen, the ‘Spring Marathon’, will coincide with a regional trade fair on electromobility. Along with a large number of bicycle and car manufacturers, Bosch eBike Systems will be represented there with a stand of its own.
At the final race, to be held in Muensingen in October, the sporting year for eBikes will offer a special highlight to the audience: a spectacular sprint relay race for two-member teams. The circuit, just under a kilometre long, will be fully visible for visitors. That will mean up close action for the spectators. The five best teams of the race series will qualify automatically for the additional sprint relay race.
The ‘German eMTB Masters – epowered by Bosch’ starts with the first race in a four-race series at 9.45 a.m. on Sunday, 12 April 2015 in Muensingen’s MTB Park.
