Just like mountain biking, e-biking is fun alone, but much better with some like-minded friends! It’s good to have others with a motor on their bike to keep up. What could be better than to meet up for a race with an e-bike category? This is just starting to catch on this season and will give e-bike riders a chance to compete, and meet new riding buddies!

On the weekend of 7/8 February, Naked Racing held a Mini-Enduro Night race over in the Forest of Dean, Glocestershire, UK. As a totally new thing to the UK race organiser Chris Roberts held the UK’s first E-bike category at the race. Only four or five electric bikes competed, but it was definitely a start. The race consisted of three timed stages in one loop, practised in the day, then raced at night.

Having a motor can actually create some challenges for racing, especially at night. You have to really watch your speed coming into corners!

All bikes were Cubes powered by the very popular Bosch motors, they all completed the day’s practice and nights racing with ease, hopefully the Uk will be seeing more of this ever growing popular category, keeping the E-bike growth strong.
