EUROBIKE 2015 | The Giant Dirt E+ hardtail with integrated battery
One of the most important trends for the coming season, apart from Plus tires, is the integration of the battery in the overall E-mountain bike concept. Giant has also done its homework for 2016 and is introducing the totally new Dirt E+ hardtail with a stylish frame and a powerful motor in three different spec versions.
As with other E-mountain bikes from Giant, the new Dirt E+ also comes with the proven Yamaha SyncDrive Performance Motor with 80 NM torque. However, for the coming year it has been completely reworked, has a more stable axle with ISIS tooth system and is 35% quieter. The battery can be charged either inside or outside the frame and has a capacity of either 500 Wh or 400 Wh.
The new Dirt E+ is offered in three different specifications. We still do not have any final prices to give you because of the continuing instability of the currency situation on the capital markets. The top model Dirt E+ 0 will have a 2×11 Shimano XT drivetrain, disk brakes, the 500 Wh battery and a dropper post. The Dirt E+ 1 also has the big battery pack and an XT-drivetrain (but only 2×10). The basic model Dirt E+ 2 will be available from Giant with a 2×9 drivetrain and the 400 Wh battery. More details to follow at Eurobike.
