Lapierre Overvolt at the Transvesubienne
We already knew that the Overvolt would achieve great things, and now confirmation has come with its first success, in the mythical Transvesubienne! Known as one of the toughest MTB races in the world (95kms, 4672m of height gain, 6h30 finish time for the winner….), the Transvesubienne now has a special category for electric bikes.
The Overvolt was taken to the top of the podium by Claude Vergier, the father of Loris Vergier, one of Team Lapierre Gravity Republic’s riders! Like father, like son!
Claude overtook 500 participants in order to win the e-bike category, as the start of the e-bike race was 30 minutes after “normal” bikes. He came 2nd overall and was the 8th bike to cross the line. This achievement is incredible, even with the benefit of the motor, when we know the difficulty of this particular challenge. An amazing way to prove the reliability of the Overvolt. The versatility of this bike was essential to finishing this mythical race. Equipped with a telescopic seatpost and a 160mm fork, the Overvolt FS revealed itself as good in climbing as in descending on the tough terrain of the Transve’.
