The new 2022 Canyon Neuron:ON – The latest edition of the trail all-rounder

Canyon equip the Neuron:ON with updated components and wrap it in new colours. To make eMTBs more accessible, the product range is also being expanded to include an entry-level model, the Canyon Neuron:ON 6.

Canyon have updated the Neuron:ON line-up for the 2022 season. The German brand continue to rely on the Shimano EP8 motor. In addition, the existing models will be expanded to include the entry-level Neuron:ON 6 model.

The new 2022 Canyon Neuron:ON in detail

Canyon have chosen to continue sticking to the key specs of the Neuron:ON for the 2022 model. The new 2022 Neuron:ON builds on the success of its predecessor and is primarily aimed at touring ebikers who like taking the occasional detour along easy trails. Moreover, the portfolio is also being expanded to include the entry-level Neuron:ON 6 model. As in the previous year, the latest Neuron:ON models are powered by the Shimano EP8 motor. At 504 Wh, the battery in sizes XS and S is smaller than in the larger models, which use a 630 Wh battery. As such, the two smaller models are both € 200 cheaper. The prices for the entry-level models of the Neuron:ON 6 with a 504 Wh battery start at €3,799. The flagship Neuron:ON 9 with a 630 Wh battery costs € 5,699.

It all depends on the size – The different wheel size and travel options of the 2022 Canyon Neuron:ON

Not only does the battery capacity of the Neuron:ON depend on the frame size, the travel and wheel sizes also differ depending on the size of the bike size and the build. The Neuron:ON is available in five sizes from XS to XL. The larger versions from M to XL roll on 29″ wheels and offer 130 mm travel front and rear. In the smaller sizes from XS to S, the Neuron features 27.5″ wheels and offers 120 or 130 mm travel up front, depending on the model, and 130 mm at the rear.

Like so many brands, Canyon have also raised the prices for the 2022 range in response to increased transport costs and the components shortage. However, it’s not just the prices that have gone up, the component spec has also been improved, thereby justifying the price increase on certain models. For example, the flagship 2022 Canyon Neuron:ON 9 comes with powerful SRAM CODE-R four-piston brakes and a GX-Eagle AXS wireless shifter.
