SRAM Eagle and AXS-products now also available for eMTBs

Until now, if you wanted to run a SRAM Eagle groupset on your eMTB, you were forced to use a heavy 11-50 NX-cassette. Now, SRAM finally released an eMTB-friendly version of all their Eagle cassettes and electronic AXS groupset.

Up until now, SRAM Eagle groupset only allowed for a compact and weighty NX cassette. However, this has changed now and eMTBers can finally enjoy the perks of the Eagle’s mighty 500% gear range

Before releasing all eMTB-compatible Eagle cassettes, the engineers at SRAM wanted to test the durability of the cassettes and, above all, the sturdiness and reliability of the XD driver body. Since the components proved solid and reliable over the past few months, nothing more stands in the way of the official release. If you want, now you can save weight and increase your gear range in one go. However, if you want to retrofit a GX, X01 or XX1 Eagle cassette, you might also need a XD driver body.

With eMTBs you should continue using a special One-Click shifter, which only allows one gear step per click. Due to the high motor torque, double gear-steps can damage the chain .

If you want, you can finally use all of SRAM’s Eagle components on your eMTB – the cassette especiallywill save you lots of weight. For comparison’s sake: an NX cassette weighs 615 g and a X01 Eagle model only weighs 360 g

There’s one more innovation that has already proven solid on several other bikes: the wireless SRAM X01 Eagle AXS groupset, which has finally been made eMTB-compatible. However, SRAM recommends deactivating the multishift function in the app and creating a one-click shift.

A true highlight! The wireless SRAM X01 Eagle AXS has now officially been made available for use on eMTBs
Fewer cables, less rattling – this is a real advantage, especially on eMTBs
If you’re using an AXS grouset on your eMTB, make sure you deactivate the Multishift function in the SRAM ap. This will reduce the risk of chain damage and premature wear.
