Shimano E-TUBE RIDE introduced – new app to ditch your eMTB display
Shimano introduces a new app for their eMTB system to monitor all your riding information on your smartphone display. In combination with a Bluetooth dongle on your bike, you can actually ditch your eMTB display. All the information from the official press release:
The E-TUBE RIDE app can be used to connect all the SHIMANO STEPS ebike drive units, including the STEPS E8000 and E7000 systems in your eMTB. The new app offers you an alternative to using the SHIMANO STEPS system computer. You might be able to tidy your cockpit. The App may also help to bring down the cost of an eMTB.
To use the app you need the new EW-EN100 Bluetooth device to pair your phone with your bike and handle the transfer of information. The device also contains a toggle switch that allows you to change drive unit support modes instead of using the switch on the left-hand side of the handlebar, which brings the potential to create an even more economical ebike.
