In E-MOUNTAINBIKE issue #024, you won’t just find a mega group test of 25 of the hottest and most exciting bikes of the year but a comprehensive introduction with plenty of knowledge, know-how and background information. The brand new Specialized Turbo Levo 2022 is already part of our big group test. Was it able to defend its title as the best eMTB around? You can find the answer in our latest release, while you can check out all of the in-depth details of the new Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo on our website. But we didn’t just want to find the best eMTB of 2021. We want to equip you with the knowledge and skills to let you find exactly the bike that will make you happy. That’s why the decisive questions that stand at the forefront for every single eMTB we test are, for which type of rider is this bike the right one? And for which isn’t it?

Everyone’s looking for it but few claim to have found it yet: happiness. But what is happiness? Even philosophers like Schopenhauer and Nietzsche weren’t in agreement when it comes to answering the question of how to find the path to happiness. The problem: the more generally we want to define happiness, the more abstract and meaningless the term becomes. It’s a question that is formulated too broadly and doesn’t have an all-encompassing answer. That’s why we don’t want to argue over theories on happiness here. We much prefer to concentrate on the things we know: how do eMTBers find their way to happiness? After all, the expression, “You can’t buy happiness but can buy a bike and that’s pretty close!” isn’t all that far off. Or have you ever seen someone without a big grin on an eMTB?
