News: Radon Render 2022 – new models and new battery variants announced

Radon is updating the Render model for the 2022 season and has announced new variants. We took a closer look at the new model range with more travel and two battery variants from Bosch!

Radon Render 9.0 | Bosch Performance Line CX/625 Wh | 160/140 mm (f/r)
23.5 kg | 29″ | € 5,199 | Manufacturer’s-website)

The only full-suspension e-mountain bike from the German bike manufacturer gets 10 mm more travel at the front for the 2022 models and remains true to the Bosch motor technology. There will be two models with the Bosch Performance Line CX motor without Smart System, which draw their juice from the Bosch PowerTube 625 Wh battery. Three more models with the larger 750 Wh battery and Bosch Smart System are to follow in the future. We already put the predecessor of the Render through its paces in our big 2020 comparison test.

Specs of the Radon Render 9.0 2022

All Radon Render models roll on 29″ and rely on the Bosch motor with Kiox display, which is well integrated next to the stem. The Render 9.0 comes with FOX Performance suspension without Kashima bling but good functionality at the front and rear. When it comes to deceleration, Radon uses Shimano XT brakes with sturdy 203 mm brake discs. The rear derailleur also comes from the Shimano XT model range, but is unfortunately inappropriately combined with the cheaper Deore cassette. The MAXXIS DHF and DHR II tyres with EXO+ casing are suitable for heavy riders or aggressive terrain, depending on the area of use and riding style, and have already convinced us in other tests. The bike comes in frame sizes M to XL and, according to Radon, is suitable for riders from 165 cm to just under 2 m height. According to the manufacturer, the bike weighs 23.5 kg for 5,199 € and can carry a load of 110 kg – so there should be something for everyone!

Availability of the Radon Render

So far only a rendering – when the Render 10.0 HD will be available is uncertain.

The Render 8.0 and 9.0 models will be available from April 2022. The models with a bigger 750 Wh battery and Bosch Smart System will be added soon. Starting with the 9.0 750, through the 10.0 to the top model 10.0 HD. The entry-level model 8.0 is priced at €4,499. The three models with the increased battery capacity range between 5,399 € and 6,999 €.

The Radon Render has already proven itself in the comparison test as a fun machine on flow trails with top equipment at a fair price and is now entering the new season with some detail changes. The model variants with Bosch Smart System and 750 Wh battery will certainly need some time before they are actually available. However, we are curious to see how the larger battery will affect the riding performance and look forward to testing it.
