Good news at Forestal: the Andorran brand around freeride star Cedric Gracia is growing. In addition to the Forestal Siryon, you can now also order the Cyon and Hydra eMTBs as well as the Aryon and Aryon SC city bikes, all of them driven by the specially developed EonDrive motor.

Things had been quiet around Forestal for some time. Since the launch of the Siryon eMTB last year, we received almost no news from the Andorran brand around freeride star Cedric Gracia. However, Forestal are now breaking this silence by introducing four new models to join the Forestal family alongside the Siryon. With the Cyon and Hydra, the product range includes two new eMTBs. The Aryon is a city bike that will come either in a rigid or a foldable full-suspension version.

With their new models, Forestal remain true to their concept of light ebikes based on carbon frames, as we already saw with the Siryon. All bikes are driven by the EonDrive motor and 360 Wh Aurora battery, which were both developed in cooperation with Bafang. Despite weighing just 1.95 kg, the motor claimed to produce a remarkable 60 Nm torque. The Forestal Smart Dashboard functions as an onboard computer, featuring a 3.2″ touch display integrated into the top tube. Besides the usual data such as battery capacity and the current support mode, it also aims to set itself apart with connectivity features such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as a navigation function with a built-in GPS. All bikes are now available to order on the Forestal website. However, it is still unclear when customers can expect delivery.

The new Forestal Cyon – An eMTB of superlatives?

With the Cyon, the line-up now includes a 150 mm travel eMTB, designed to take on technical trails. Thanks to a lightweight frame, claimed to weigh just 2.2 kg (size. M), light EonDrive motor and the 1.8 kg Aurora battery, it should be just as light as the Siryon. The total weight should come down to 17.1 kg in Size M, according to Forestal. The Cyon is offered in three build variants: the Halo, Neon and flagship Diode. In its basic configuration, the Cyon Halo costs € 8,299. For € 12,599, the flagship eMTB features top of the line SRAM AXS components and Öhlins suspension. The Cyon will be available in four sizes, from S to XL.

New information about the Forestal Siryon

Forestal Syrion Diode | 29” | 170mm (f/r) | Forestal EonDrive/360 Wh | €12.599 | Manufacturer’s website

We already presented the Siryon to you in 2020. The 29″ eMTB is trimmed towards downhill performance, offering 170 mm travel front and rear, matched with correspondingly hard-hitting components. When it was presented last year, there was only one build available for € 7,499. In the meantime, Forestal have added new builds and adjusted the prices accordingly, now also offering the Siryon in the Halo, Neon and Diode versions. The entry-level Halo starts at € 8,299. In its flagship configuration, the Siryon Diode costs € 12,599 and, like the Cyon, comes equipped with a high-quality Sram AXS groupset and Öhlins air suspension.

The top of the line Diode build of the Siryon relies on brakes from Braking, which we’ve never heard of before.
The carbon frame of the Siryon features an integrated touch display in the top tube and is claimed to weigh just 2.4 kg in size M.

The new Forestal Hydra – Downhill bike with a built-in shuttle

Forestal Hydra Diode | 29” | 180/170 (f/r) | Forestal EonDrive/360 Wh | € 12,099 | Manufacturer’s website

The new Forestal Hydra is based on the Siryon but has been optimised for the demands of full-on downhill tracks. Like the Siryon, it offers 170 mm travel at the rear, which, in contrast to the new Siryon, is controlled by a coil shock. Depending on the build, you get a Rock Shox Boxxer or Öhlins DH 38 M.1 dual crown fork, both offering 180 mm travel. So that you don’t have to rely on a lift or shuttle to get to the top, the Hydra is equipped with the same 60 Nm EonDrive motor, drawing its power from the 360 Wh Aurora battery, as Forestal’s other bikes. The Forestal Hydra is available in two builds: the entry-level Halo is priced at € 9,999, while the flagship Diode will set you back by a whopping € 12,099.

We’ve been excited to get our hands on a test bike ever since the Siryon was introduced last year, and Forestal’s latest models seem just as promising. However, no matter how good they look on paper, only practical tests will show whether they can meet these high expectations. That said, we’re happy to say that the first test bike is on its way to us. Stay tuned to find out how Forestal’s eMTBs fare in the real world.
