Launching today a new player enters the e-mountainbike market. Read everything about the THOK e-bikes and their first model, the MIG, in this press release:
THOK is a new e-mtb Company, born from the passion of Stefano Migliorini, one of the greatest Italian MTB riders of the 1990s, united with the entrepreneurial skills of Giuseppe Bernocco and Sebastiano Astegiano, founders of the TCN Group, an Italian group of Companies with over 300 employees and a turnover of about 60 Million Euro in 2015.
THOK will exclusively produce e-bikes, available for orders from the 21st of November 2016, only and exclusively online at www.thokebikes.com. It will be possible to receive the bike at home, in a THOK Point (selected dealers that will be organized all over Europe) or in any dealer indicated by the clients.
An “all-mountain” model has been chosen for the international launch, the MIG. The new e-mtb takes its name from Stefano Migliorini’s nickname from the BMX and DH racing world, “Mr. Mig”.
20-time World Trials Champion Toni Bou, is test rider and testimonial for THOK and has been a key element in the development of the e-bike. The Spanish super champ, who began his career on two wheels with the bmt (Trials bicycles), unveiled the MIG during the Valencia MotoGP weekend, receiving the first sample of the version dedicated to him, that will be limited to a production of only 20 pieces.

The THOK MIG in Action
The THOK MIG demonstrates unique solutions:
- An innovative design, executed by D-Perf, the “atelier” of Aldo Drudi who, as well as being the most famous helmet and livery designer of MotoGP, is also a celebrated designer (responsible for the Anvera 55 motorboat produced by LG Technology Hub as well as the Burrasca 1200, a “concept bike” based on a Honda).
- Integrated 504Wh Shimano battery positioned below the down tube and protected by an ABS cover and an elastic belt, for a better weight distribution and an ideal integration with the engine and frame.
- Geometry and leverage expressly developed for an e-mtb in cooperation with industrial designer Luca Burzio.
- Shimano STEPS E8000 motor, the newest product from the Japanese company, specifically designed for e-mtb (small dimension that has allowed to do a very short chain stay length for an e-mtb with 27,5 Plus tires, light weight, Q-factor – the distance between the tips of the crank arms – that’s identical to a mtb without engine, very small display with LCD colors screen 1,6”).
MIG has been created to deliver its best on very rough terrains found typically on the Alps where the bike has been developed. All the three versions (MIG, MIG R and MIG Limited Edition) feature 150mm front and 140mm rear travel, 66° head tube angle, Plus tires 27.5 x 2.8”.
Prices & Availability
The first THOK MIG available for orders will be the “Limited Edition”, which boasts top components custom made with “20 Time World Champion” logo of Toni Bou, at a price of 6,490 Euro (incl. VAT). In the coming weeks THOK will announce full details and prices of MIG and MIG R versions.
