During our visit to Moustache Bikes in the Vosges mountain to test the new Samedi 29 Game 10, we also had the chance to investigate the rest of the French brand’s 2020 range. We’ve put together the highlights for you here:

Moustache Samedi 27 Xroad FS 7

The new Moustache Samedi 27 Xroad FS 7 is a first-class SUV bike fitted with the new Bosch Performance CX motor, PowerTube 625 battery and Kiox display. The 100 mm travel front and rear ensure a comfortable ride while the practical QL3 luggage racks using the MIK-click system, durable mudguards and the integrated Supernova lights offer flexibility and practicality for everyday use. The Moustache Samedi 27 Xroad FS 7 weighs 25.25 kg in a Size Medium and thanks to the low-slung top tube and treaded tires it is also suitable for touring and trekking on bridleways and fire roads. Pricing for the Samedi 27 Xroad FS models starts at € 3,999 and goes up to € 4,999. The model will be available between October 2019 and January 2020. We particularly like the metallic green paint of the top-end model!

Moustache Samedi 27 Trail

The Samedi 27 Trail uses the same clever features to integrate the Bosch system as used on the Samedi 29 Game that we tested, though this model has less travel and is fitted with plus tires. With 150 mm travel, a Bosch Performance CX motor, PowerTube 625 battery and Purion display, it is designed to be a playful all-rounder. Only the top-end Samedi 27 Trail 10 has the Kiox display. Just like the Samedi 29 Game, the new Moustache Magic Grip shock and the size-specific dropper posts are to be found here as well. All models are fitted with 27.5 x 2.8” Maxxis Minion tires up front and Maxxis Rekon tires at the rear. The more expensive models (Samedi 27 Trail 8 and 10) come with an unusual Shimano XT brake configuration with a four-pot caliper paired with a 203 mm disc at the front and a two-pot caliper with 180 mm disc at the back. The bikes in the range cost between € 4,499 and € 6,999 and will be available from November/December 2019.

The Samedi 27 Wide is offered for beginners and occasional riders who will be spending time on easier terrain. The bike has 120 mm travel and is fitted with plus tires. Three models are available priced between € 3,999 and € 5,199 and are all fitted with Bosch Performance CX motors paired with a Purion display. All bikes use an integrated PowerTube battery – the cheapest model has the 500 Wh version, while the others are fitted with the 625 Wh battery. The top-end model weighs 22.75 kg in a size Medium.

Moustache Samedi 27 OFF Open Step-through

The Moustache Samedi 27 OFF is a pleasant surprise in the new range from the French brand. Thanks to the triple down tube, the step-through frame maintains good torsional stiffness and is claimed to ride just like a normal mountain bike. The battery can be easily removed from the top of the down tube, while the suspension seat post and 27.5 x 2.35” Maxxis Forekaster tires make outings into easy off-road terrain a pleasure. Instead of the CX motor, the new Performance Line model, providing 65 Nm torque and up to 300 % assistance, is fitted instead. The weight for a Size M is 22.6 kg. Three Moustache Samedi 27 OFF Open models are available, with both the cheaper 400 Wh model (€ 2,699) and 500 Wh model (€ 2,899) available from October 2019. The top-end Samedi 27 OFF is fitted with a 625 Wh battery and costs € 3,799 and should be available from January 2020.

Moustache Samedi 26 OFF Kids’ bike

26” wheels, Bosch Active Line Plus motor and a 300 Wh battery – those are the ingredients that come together to create Moustache’s new kids’ eMTB. The € 2,399 bike is here to electrify your kids’ ride. The spec is functional whilst maintaining decent value for money and the Samedi 26 OFF weighs 20 kg.

Moustache Friday 28 Commuter

The new Moustache Friday 28 is based on the new electric Dimanche 28 road bike, which we’ve already had the chance to test in the South of France. This version is intended as a sporty commuter. There are two options available, one with a standard top tube and another with a low-slung, step-through frame design for the “Open” model. There are four specs available which are priced between € 2,999 and € 4,399 and are equipped with either the Bosch Active Plus motor and Purion display or the Bosch Performance Line Gen3 motor and the new Bosch SmartphoneHub. The Friday 28.7, fitted with drop bars, minimal luggage racks and mudguards, is our personal favourite and weighs 20.5 kg in a size Medium. The Friday 29 models will be available from September 2019.
