Things never stop moving at Haibike. Just as Bosch present their new systems, Haibike come around the corner with a range of new ebikes. We’ve taken a closer look at the AllMtn CF SE with the new Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System motor, relying on a 750 Wh battery.

The new Haibike AllMtn CF SE featuring the new Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System

Bosch fans will get their money’s worth in 2022. The new Haibike AllMtn CF SE comes with a Bosch motor and is aimed at fun-fuelled, trail riding ebikers who are looking for a compromise between good climbing characteristics and downhill performance. The eMTB offers 160 mm travel front and rear and rolls on mixed wheel sizes with a 29er up front and 27.5″ wheel at the rear. The AllMtn CF SE is the flagship model in the AllMtn range, costs € 7,999 and will be available from your Haibike dealer by the beginning of 2022. The motor will be upgraded to the new Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System, which means you get a larger battery capacity of 750 Wh. The LED remote on the handlebar and the Bosch Kiox 300 display are further refinements of the system. We go into detail about what else the new Bosch system is about in our article on the Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System here. Besides the motor, the carbon frame has also been redesigned. The cable ports have been removed and all cables now enter the frame via the Acros headset. Furthermore, the large opening in the down tube that was needed to access the battery has disappeared. Now, the long 750 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery just slides out of the bottom of the down tube, which should make for a stiffer frame. To remove the battery, the ebike must be placed on its side or turned upside down, then the skid plate has to be removed, which is held in place by a bolt. The battery lock is located on the battery itself. All frame sizes from S to XL can accommodate the large battery, but the Range Extender isn’t an option for the Bosch driven eMTBs. As usual from Haibike, the aluminium rear end can accommodate a pair of taillights in the dropouts.

Without the cable ports on the head tube, the new Haibike looks a lot cleaner.
The new LED remote offers all the basic data, like the battery level and support mode, allowing the bike to be ridden without a display.
The new Kiox 300 display doesn’t have any buttons and all its functions must be controlled via the LED remote. The new mount gives you more options to position the display on the handlebar.
The skid plate is held in place by a bolt.
To get to the battery, the skid plate has to be removed first.
The battery lock is integrated into the battery. Once unlocked, you can take the battery out of the down tube by pulling the tab.
Bottle cages and other accessories can be attached to the Modular Rail System. For now, there will be no Range Extender.
The new Bosch PowerTube battery requires a new charging socket. Unfortunately, it isn’t compatible with existing chargers.
The new Haibike AllMtn CF SE is immediately recognisable as such, like the other bikes in Haibike’s portfolio, though the look has been refined.

Haibike have revised the AllMtn range relying on the new Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System motor. In doing so, Haibike have implemented all the latest innovations offered by the motor brands, including the larger battery, the new displays and new remotes – while at it, they also completely overhauled some of their bikes. However, you’ll have to wait until 2022 to swing your leg over one of the new eMTBs. We’ll tell you whether the refinements are a success as soon as the first test bikes arrive.

About the author

Rudolf Fischer

In his previous life Rudolf was a dab hand at promoting innovation, putting his brain behind big-ticket patent assessments that easily ran into six-or-seven-plus figures. These days, the self-confessed data nerd’s role as editor at DOWNTOWN and E-MOUNTAINBIKE is no less exciting. Given his specialism in connectivity, Rudolf’s often placed on the front line of future mobility conversations, but he’s also big into testing new bikes–both on the daily as a committed commuter and intensively for our group tests. The business economist graduate is as versatile as a Swiss penknife, and that’s no hyperbole. Away from two wheels, his background in parkour means he’s a master of front, side and backflips, plus he speaks German, English, French, Russian and a touch of Esperanto. Japanese remains woefully unmastered, despite his best home-learning attempts. Good to know: Rudolf’s sharp tongue has made him a figure of fear in the office, where he’s got a reputation for flexing a dry wittiness à la Ricky Gervais... interestingly, he's usually the one laughing hardest.
