With the UNNO Mith Pro, the Barcelona-based bike manufacturer is introducing their first full-power eMTB featuring the all-new DJI Avinox motor system – and we were the first magazine worldwide to put it to the test. With its 800 Wh battery, 170/160 mm of travel and a system weight of just 21.5 kg, it’s impressively light and sleek given its aggressive orientation and massive capacity. But how does the DJI motor perform outside the AMFLOW platform? And is the UNNO more than just a €11,995 design statement?

This bike is part of our big group test: The Best E-Mountainbike of 2025 – Featuring the 30 Most Exciting E-MTBs of the Year. Click here for the full intro, key takeaways, and all the bikes we tested.

UNNO is all about pushing boundaries – no other brand takes such a radical approach to bike design as the Catalan manufacturer. Known for their futuristic aesthetics, UNNO bikes stand out from the crowd like few others. Alongside their lightweight eMTB,the Ikki, they also have a full-power model, the Mith – an eMTB we already put to the test in our big 2023 comparison test.

With the revamped Mith, UNNO take things to the next level. The new Mith rolls into the new season with a re-designed frame silhouette, a brand-new motor – and a whole new level of performance? That’s exactly what we set out to find out. At first glance, it comes across as both exceptionally clean and technically sophisticated. The most eye-catching feature remains the futuristic frame design, even in this latest iteration. Nestled deep within the frame sits the shock, which is mounted almost horizontally and splits the seat tube in two. It’s driven by a linkage that connects the swingarm to the main frame. Arguably the most discreet highlight is the DJI Avinox M1 motor, which is seamlessly integrated into the bottom bracket area and draws its power from a permanently-installed 800 Wh battery in the downtube – and despite the massive battery, the bike still weigh just 21.5 kg in size M. That makes the Mith one of the lightest full-power eMTBs in this comparison test, coming in almost 2 kg under the average. But the real question remains: is the UNNO Mith truly worth €11,995? We sent the UNNO Mith Pro flying down the trails and stacked it up against 29 of the hottest e-MTBs in our big group test.

What sets the UNNO Mith Pro apart from the competition?

The UNNO Mith Pro is anything but ordinary. With its sharp lines, low-slung top tube, and aggressive frame silhouette, this eMTB stands out clearly from the rest of the test field. Its slim profile and high-end finish with exposed carbon fibres, it boasts a premium, high-tech look. The cables are routed internally and disappear discreetly into the frame through conventional cable ports on the head tube, ensuring a clean look and quiet ride on the trail. The DJI Avinox M1 motor is seamlessly integrated into the bottom bracket area, and elegantly concealed by the motor cover, which blends in perfectly with the bike’s black silhouette. In regular riding mode, it delivers 105 Nm of torque and 850 watts of power. Switch to Boost mode, and the motor unleashes an impressive 120 Nm and up to 1,000 watts peak for 30 seconds. The 800 Wh battery is permanently integrated into the down tube, which helps increase the frame’s overall stiffness and also keeps the weight down – but it also means that you can’t charge the battery externally. Thankfully, the charging port is easily accessible above the motor and well protected from dirt by a cover. The 12-amp fast charger takes the battery from 0 to 100% in 145 minutes – with an average charging rate of 5.8 Wh per minute, it ranks among the fastest in the test, second only to the Specialized Levo 4 with 7.3 Wh/min. The sleekly integrated 2-inch Avinox OLED display sits flush with the top tube and shows all basic ride data. There’s also a USB-C charging port, which can be used to top up your smartphone on the go. The intuitive menu can be navigated either via the responsive touchscreen or the two wireless handlebar remotes. If you want even more data and connectivity features like GPS tracking, anti-theft alerts, and ride tracking, you can pair the bike with a smartphone via the dedicated app, which also allows you to customise the support levels and the duration of the Boost mode.

The UNNO Mith Pro features the new FOX FLOAT X2 Factory shock (Performance Elite version on our test bike), which elegantly splits the seat tube.

Despite their radical design language, the UNNO Mith Pro also delivers on practicality – proving that bold looks and trail functionality aren’t mutually exclusive. The Mith Pro features mounting points for a bottle cage and a tool mount on the top tube, allowing you to secure all your trail essentials directly to the frame. A generously sized chainstay protector minimizes chain slap, and even the linkage between main frame and swingarm is wrapped in rubber for added protection. The shock is protected against dirt and water by a compact fender. Our test bike came with a 3D-printed prototype, but the production bike will feature a higher-grade talc-reinforced polypropylene material. Another thoughtful touch is the integrated seatpost clamp, which is neatly hidden within the seat tube dome and protected by a rubber cover.

Canadian component manufacturer OneUp supplies the V3 dropper post, which offers 180 mm of travel on our test bike in size S2 and worked reliably throughout the test, with the standard remote ensuring smooth actuation and excellent haptic feedback. For the suspension, UNNO rely on proven components, combining a 170 mm FOX 38 Factory GRIP X2 fork and a matching FOX FLOAT X2 Factory air shock controlling 160 mm of travel at the rear – although our test bike came fitted with the Performance Elite version. Both suspension components offer a wide range of adjustability and deliver strong performance on the trail. Shifting is taken care of by a wireless SRAM X0 Eagle AXS Transmission drivetrain, which delivers butter-smooth gear changes, even under load. The 1×12 drivetrain forgoes a conventional mech hanger and mounts directly to the frame. To keep things under control when things get rowdy, the Mith comes equipped with Formula Cura 4 stoppers and 203 mm rotors front and rear, which deliver a crisp bite point and are easy to adjust at the lever-end. The UNNO Mith comes standard with a carbon wheelset, with a 29” NEWMEN Phase 30 Base wheel at the front and a smaller 27.5” NEWMEN Phase 30 Strong wheel at the rear. Our test bike, on the other hand, came with a DT Swiss HX 1700 aluminum wheelset. The rims are paired with a Schwalbe Magic Mary in the tough Super Gravity casing and ultra-soft rubber compound at the front, and a Schwalbe Big Betty in Super Gravity casing and a softer rubber compound at the rear. The production bike however, will feature a Magic Mary front and rear with identical casing but more durable soft rubber compound.

The UNNO Mith Pro on the trail

When cruising leisurely towards the trailhead, the UNNO Mith Pro places you in a relaxed, upright pedalling position, which doesn’t put excessive pressure on your hands. The suspension works sensitively, absorbing small bumps and ensuring an overall comfortable ride. The DJI Avinox M1 motor provides a well-balanced yet impressively powerful level of assistance, remaining pleasantly quiet in the process while and making it easy to reach the 25 km/h limit – even at low cadences.

No other bike turns heads or looks as futuristic as the UNNO.

UNNO Mith DJI Best EMTB Test 2025 040 MAG 1130 1
In rock gardens, experienced riders can send the UNNO Mith Pro full throttle downhill, with the suspension delivering impressive reserves when the going gets rough.

But if you choose a technical climbing trail to reach the summit, the Mith Pro requires you to actively weight the front wheel. While the tall front end ensures great comfort in flatter sections, it causes the front wheel to lift on steep climbs. Bikes like the Specialized Turbo Levo 4 and AMFLOW PL Carbon Pro are more balanced in this regard and climb more efficiently. The motor continues to deliver powerful assistance even on technical climbs, and engaging Boost mode gives you an extra push that makes tricky sections feel almost effortless. Still, when it comes to climbing performance, the UNNO can’t quite keep up with the best uphill machines and lands at a solid mid-level – on par with bikes like the FOCUS JAM² or Transition Repeater CX.

In the right hands, the UNNO Mith Pro delivers record-setting speed– but it demands a committed riding style.

UNNO Mith DJI Best EMTB Test 2025 040 MAG 0884 1
Climbing on the UNNO Mith demands solid body control: you’ll need to keep enough pressure on the rear wheel for traction while actively weighting the front wheel to prevent it from lifting.

As soon as the trail points downhill, the UNNO Mith Pro comes into its own – provided you’ve got the riding skills to back it up to keep up with its potent character. The combination of a low center of gravity, capable suspension, and direct handling makes it one of the fastest bikes in the entire test field when handled by an experienced rider. Once you’ve adapted to the riding position, the Mith delivers a high level of control on steep descents, while the FOX suspension impresses with excellent sensitivity and generous reserves. The latter absorbs big hits with great confidence, making it easy to hold your line through nasty rough rock gardens. On the gnarliest and fastest descents, it’s both brutally fast and tons of fun – always with a reassuring sense of control.

The handling is precise, with steering inputs translated directly yet deliberately. Compared to the more forgiving Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo 4, the Mith demands slightly more rider input to execute exactly what you want. On flow trails, it demands a more active riding style to stay centered on the bike and keep enough pressure on the front wheel. Especially in flatter berms and jumps, you’ll need to consciously shift your weight forward to get the most out of the bike. While the YT DECOY SN feels more intuitive in this type of terrain, making it easy to pump through rollers and berms, the Mith demands a more active riding style. To compensate for the tall front end, you can reduce shock sag to 25% instead of the recommended 30%, which positions you higher in the travel and improves front-end traction. But if you’re willing to put in the effort, you’ll be rewarded with a supremely confident and lightning-fast eMTB that charges hard with the right rider – no questions asked. And the more you push it, the more speed you can squeeze out of the trail.

Who should take a closer look at the UNNO Mith Pro?

The UNNO Mith Pro is the right bike for riders seeking a no-frills, high-performance eMTB that isn’t prepared to compromise – provided you’re ready to ride it with an active, engaged style. If you love steep, technical trails, the UNNO provides impressive composure and control in demanding terrain. If you spend more time on playful flow trails or relaxed tours, you’ll be much happier with other bikes in this test, like the Specialized Levo 4 and the FOCUS JAM² 6.0. Beginners, on the other hand, won’t feel too confident astride the Mith – the Catalan e-beast demands excellent riding skills and a confident hand, but rewards your commitment with maximum performance.

Conclusions about the UNNO Mith Pro

The new UNNO Mith gives a glimpse into the future of e-MTBs. If you’re looking for the perfect all-rounder for beginners and experts across all types of terrain, you’ll want to look elsewhere. The UNNO Mith Pro follows a clear philosophy: razor-sharp design and handling – built primarily for descending. Despite its impressively powerful DJI Avinox M1 motor, it’s only average on steep technical climbs. But point it downhill or into demanding terrain, and it comes alive – provided you have the skills to handle it. Visually and technically, the UNNO Mith Pro combines the best of both the light and full-power e-MTB categories. It’s not made for the masses – but it’s exactly the kind of bike our experienced editorial team loves to ride. That’s why it earns our very first Editor’s Choice award.
