Is the Hybe real? Haibike certainly think so! The German manufacturer wasted no time and sent us the Hybe CF 11 for our latest group test, hoping to claim a spot on the podium. Their carboneMTB breaks under the 24 kg barrier and relies on a Bosch CX Gen 5 motor and massive 800 Wh battery, generating 170/160 mm of travel (front/rear). But is that enough to spark real hype and propel Haibike to the top of our big eMTB group test?

This bike is part of our big group test: The Best E-Mountainbike of 2025 – Featuring the 30 Most Exciting E-MTBs of the Year. Click here for the full intro, key takeaways, and all the bikes we tested.

Haibike were early adopters of e-bikes, specialising in electrified rides since 2010. From city bikes to trekking models, their range covers it all – but eMTBs have always been a core part of their DNA. The latest addition to the line-up is the Haibike Hybe CF 11, which relies on a carbon frame and tips the scales at just 23.3 kg. More than just a new model, it marks the beginning of a fresh design era for Haibike: the brand’s signature ‘hump’ on the top tube has almost disappeared, the lines are sharper and more defined, and the Bosch motor is now mounted from above, neatly encased in a sleek plastic cover. But does Haibike’s €10,000 eMTB have what it takes to claim the top spot in our test? Let’s find out.

What Sets the Haibike Hybe CF 11 Apart From the Competition?

As already hinted, the Hybe CF no longer follows Haibike’s design language quite as rigidly – but in a good way! The Hybe CF has a more athletic stance, with the shape evolving from the angular lines of its predecessor to a more organic look on the CF 11. The brand’s once-iconic top tube hump is now almost a thing of the past, while the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor has been rotated upwards and neatly encased in a high-quality plastic cover. Conveniently, the charging port sits right on top, which makes it easy to access. The 85 Nm motor draws its power from an 800 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery integrated into the downtube – but despite its size, the battery is still removable. Thanks to the tilted motor, it simply slides out from the bottom of the downtube, though the easiest way to do this is to flip the bike upside down. To remove it, you just need to unlock the motor cover via a bayonet catch and swing it aside.

Stand up! The Bosch Performance Line CX motor is rotated 85° upwards and neatly integrated. This allows you to remove the battery from the bottom of the frame and at the same time leaves enough room in the downtube for a small storage compartment.

Storage: The skid plate can be easily opened without tools, revealing not only the removable battery but also extra space to secure a puncture kit.

Usability: The 800 Wh battery can be removed without tools using a pull strap. Simply flip the bike upside down and slide it out.

A nice touch: the space between the battery and motor can be used to strap in a small pouch for a puncture kit. There are also mounting points on the downtube for attaching a bottle cage.

In the name of sportiness, the Haibike Hybe CF 11 does away with a display altogether. Instead, the cockpit is clean, and features only a minimalist Bosch Mini Remote on the handlebars. Paired with the integrated top tube System Controller, this allows you to switch riding modes or activate walk assist. The System Controller uses five LEDs with different colours to indicate the mode and battery level in 10% increments. As a result, Bosch’s otherwise feature-packed Smart System is stripped down, omitting functions like navigation and shift recommendations.

The cables are routed internally and disappear into the frame through the headset – though with the wireless setup, only the rear brake hose remains. Both the drivetrain and dropper post are wireless, and as for the suspension and brakes, everything comes from RockShox and SRAM.

Easy to access: The charging port is centrally located on the motor cover and sealed with a high-quality rubber cap.

The 170mm RockShox ZEB Ultimate fork offers countless adjustment options, allowing you to set the high- and low-speed compression as well as rebound tuning. The fork is paired with a RockShox SuperDeluxe Ultimate shock, which controls 160 mm at the rear and also offers extensive adjustment options. With just 150 mm of travel, the wireless RockShox Reverb AXS dropper post is slightly underwhelming, limiting freedom of movement on the trail despite its lightning-fast actuation. Shifting is taken care of by a SRAM GX Eagle AXS Transmission Drivetrain, which delivers crisp, reliable gear changes even under load.

SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes do stopping duties, delivering powerful deceleration and excellent heat dissipation together with a 220 mm rotor at the front and 200 mm disc at the rear.. The DT Swiss HXC 1501 carbon wheels shave off a little weight and come wrapped in solid rubber: the 23.3 kg Haibike rolls on Continental Kryptotal tires in the Soft rubber compound. Haibike pair the grippy soft compound front and rear with the tough Enduro casing, thus allowing you to run lower air pressures while at the same time improving excellent puncture protection. All in all, a well-rounded build for a bike that comes in at exactly €10,000.

How Did the Haibike Hybe CF 11 fare in our test?

As soon as you swing your leg over the saddle, the Haibike Hybe CF 11 places you in a sporty riding position. There’s a bit more pressure on the hands than on the saddle, but you’re seated centrally with plenty of room to move. The suspension remains firm and efficient at all times and only bobs marginally, making long climbs comfortable without wasting energy in the shock. And since the Bosch Performance Line CX motor delivers a solid 85 Nm of torque even at low cadences, you get powerful and consistent support – ideal for effortless uphill progress on fire roads.

The Haibike Hybe boasts a clean, streamlined look while still featuring a removable battery – and even has space for a puncture kit in the frame. Top marks!

Haibike Hybe CF 11 2025 EMTB Test 1812
The Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor of the Haibike Hybe CF powers up even the steepest climbs with ease – keeping you in control at all times and preventing the front wheel from lifting.

If you tackle a technical uphill trail, the Hybe CF 11 proves that it’s not just built for smooth climbs. Thanks to the well-balanced riding position, you barely need to shift your weight to keep the front wheel planted. Even on steep and rooty sections, the Haibike remains composed and is easy to steer. The front end stays predictable and grippy, making the Haibike a confident climber on par with the FOCUS Jam² and Transition Regulator CX.

Point it downhill, and the Hybe CF 11 inspires confidence, slotting into the middle of the test field in terms of handling. At just over 23 kg, it’s not the lightest or liveliest eMTB out there, but it strikes a solid balance between composure and agility. The ride feel is similar to the Raymon Tarok from our test, but with a touch more playfulness and control at higher speeds. On flowing descents, the RockShox suspension provides enough support to surf through berms and rollers, letting you make the most of every burst of speed. The bike’s central riding position gives you a commanding feel, making you feel firmly in control.

The Haibike’s centred riding position gives you a true captain’s feel – you’re always in control of the trail.

Haibike Hybe CF 11 2025 EMTB Test 1442
The Haibike Hybe CF performs well on descents, striking a balanced ride without leaning too far in either direction.

When the terrain gets steeper and rougher, the Haibike is more than happy to take on the challenge. The suspension is well-balanced, generating excellent grip without diving deep into its travel when you push harder. Rock gardens, roots, and drops are absorbed smoothly, keeping things smooth and composed. In theory, you should be able to focus entirely on the trail ahead…but– ughhhh! That long seat tube and disappointingly short 150 mm dropper post quickly become an issue. On steep terrain, where you need as much clearance at the rear as possible, the saddle constantly gets in the way, making things uncomfortably cramped. This slightly undermines what is otherwise a confident and secure ride. That said, if you’re looking for a versatile eMTB, the Hybe CF 11 delivers. It earns a solid spot in the upper midfield of our test.

Who Should Take a Closer Look at the Haibike Hybe CF 11?

The Haibike Hybe CF 11 is a solid bike with practical features like the removable battery and integrated storage. Its handling is confidence-inspiring and beginner-friendly, though compared to the competition, it doesn’t push the limits in any one specific area. It performs above average but doesn’t quite break into the top tier of high-performance eMTBs. That makes the Hybe a versatile all-rounder– perfect for Haibike fans looking for the sportiest eMTB in the brand’s line-up.

Conclusions about the Haibike Hybe CF 11

The Haibike Hybe CF 11 didn’t make it to the top spot in our 29-bike test field, but it still delivers a seriously strong performance. A capable suspension setup, a confidence-inspiring ride, and excellent climbing abilities are just a few of its highlights. The long seat tube limits freedom of movement on very steep trails, but with its full-carbon frame, Bosch CX motor, and consistently solid performance, the Hybe CF 11 is a fun and capable eMTB with great touring potential. A versatile bike for those who love sporty adventures.
