The new KTM MACINA KAPOHO has 160 mm of suspension and rolls on two differently sized wheels.

KTM have updated their Macina Kapoho for the coming season, lending it a newly integrated Bosch PowerTube battery and wheel concept – their aim was to develop a bike that’s capable of ascending super technical climbs but deliver the ultimate control on descents. The Austrians borrowed inspiration from the motorbike specialists of the same name and designed the MACINA KAPOHO 271 with a big 29″ wheel at the front for control and a wide 27.5+ rear wheel to give the grip. They’ve raised the bottom bracket to avoid any unwanted snagging on the trail while climbing and given the bike short 160 mm cranks. There’s a SRAM EX1 drivetrain with its generous gearing and powerful Shimano ZEE brakes for consistent and reliable braking. The battery can be charged off the bike or directly on the bike thanks to the charging socket on the headtube. Oh, and did we mention the bike has 160 mm of suspension so it looks like it’ll be a smooth ride on burly descents too?
