Shown here is the Corratec E-Power RS 150, which will hit retailers from November for € 4,699.

Hot off the press, Bosch recently dropped their new PowerTube 500, an integrated battery for their well-known Bosch Performance CX motor. Corratec have now stepped up as one of the first brands to adopt this integrated battery into a full-suspension E-MTB. What stood out for us at EUROBIKE Media Days was how they’ve put the battery cover directly over the Powerpack and even gone so far as to patent it. The Upper Bavarian company have also dubbed their downtube design as Shadow Edge, which has 3 mm thick tubing and an angular design to render it particularly stiff and with high torsional strength. The new Corratec E-Power RS 150 has 150 mm of travel (pretty obvious, right), and it’s compatible with both 27.5+ and 29″ tires. The bike is out in three build specs, but the top of the line model is the only one that’ll be released as an S-Pedelec – a shame if you ask us!

The Bosch PowerTube 500 is inserted into the frame from the underside. Right now the bike doesn’t have a bottle cage, but there is the possibility to retro-fit one.

The angular design is reputed to lend the bike enhanced stiffness.

The charging socket is integrated into the seat tube, so you can charge the battery either on or off the bike.

The non-S-Pedelec model – the E-Power RS 150 – has a pretty budget-looking spec. We’d prefer to see a 25km/h bike with more high-end parts.
