We believe that you can’t judge a product simply by its look and feel. At the Design & Innovation Award 2017 we spent 16 days in St. Vigil/Kronplatz, testing and analyzing the best products, greatest innovations and most exciting trends of the upcoming season.

Rush hour: same scene, different city. An line of impatient cars makes its staccato way through the concrete jungle. This halting, stop-start reality is at odds with the fun and fast image we have of city mobility, but that’s where urban bikes come in. More than just a mode of transport, they’re status symbols and the manifestation of a sustainable lifestyle. No one recognizes this more than the select DI.A crewmembers who launched the e-mobility magazine DOWNTOWN back in 2011.

Urban riding has as many facets as its myriad users. From the simplest iteration of a bike with a belt drive to plush motor-assisted town bikes and even multi-purpose cargo bikes, the market presents options for everyone. The DI.A has not only awarded products that are innovative in terms of design, function and performance, but has also commended distribution methods and service. Naturally, it should come as no surprise that each of these bikes represents a superior standard of sustainable and satisfying urban mobility.
