MAGURA Boltron – E-MTB forks with motocross DNA launched

In collaboration with the motocross suspension specialists WP, MAGURA have created an upside-down fork that is especially designed to deal with the weight and pace of E-MTBs. Here’s all the latest info on the new MAGURA Boltron!

MAGURA are proud to have had opportunity to benefit from the skills of the motocross specialists during the development of their upside-down forks, having intentionally teamed up to unite the best of both worlds: MAGURA provide experience from the realm of E-MTBs while WP expand upon that with extensive motocross know-how.

Die Gabel wiegt stolze 2.200 g – sie soll dafür aber auch sehr steif sein.
The forks weigh a not-insignificant 2,200 g – but they’re reputed to be ultra stiff.

“The eBike and eMTB market is an important market for MAGURA and its products. Alongside the MT and HS braking systems, which are already well received in this segment, our aim now is to also demonstrate and provide our e-competence in the suspension sector,” explained Michael Funk, director at MAGURA.

Moderne E-MTBs haben laut MAGURA immer mehr Ähnlichkeiten mit Motocross-Motorrädern.
According to MAGURA, E-MTBs are edging down a similar path to motocross motorbikes, showing an increasing number of similarities.

Given the higher speeds and heavier weight of E-MTBs, MAGURA highlighted the demand for special bearing technologies for increased braking stiffness and optimum engagement from the braking forces. Citing similar motives, WP have long relied on USD technology, which grants the forks incredibly fine responsiveness. As has been proven in motocross, friction-optimised surface coatings on the outer and inner tubes as well as optimally tuned sealing systems achieve this. Moreover, the Boltron is reputed to be exceptionally easy to set-up: the negative air chamber’s pressure sets automatically and the compression damping is adjusted via shims, leaving just the air pressure and rebound down to the rider.

Ohne Adapter lassen sich 180-mm-Bremsscheiben an die MAGURA Boltron schrauben.
180 mm rotors can be fixed onto the MAGURA Boltron forks without screws.

In addition to their MAGURA MT7 and MT5 components, MAGURA aim to offer the ultimate package for E-MTBers.

Die integrierte SAG-Anzeige macht die Einstellung der Gabel noch einfacher.
